Bay of Banderas

Puerta Vallarta is divided into a no.of zones as it's part of a 50kms long Banderas Bay....... to mention a few zones....downtown by the promenade, the old town and the new town. I'm 3 mins away from the promenade and about 10 mins to the old town & its beaches. Streets in the old town have cobblestones or rather beach stones. PV has elevated footpaths about a foot and a half high to prevent flooding & keep your feet drier in tropical downpours. May is fortunately a drier month & every day has had perfect blue skies so far.
I have Sky here but only get CNN intl in English. I watched quite a
bit of the UK elections here as we are 6 hrs behind & an evening time here when results came in.
Had a nice swim yesterday at Mismaloya, up the coast. Bus fare for a 40 min journey NZ$1! Also visited a giant Wal Mart a few days ago. PV has come of age as Starbucks, Burger King, Subway etc are here now but haven't got to the old town where there are quaint traditional cafes.
It is quite warm by afternoon but mornings are pleasant. 23 AM & 29 PM. Sunset 8 30 as d/saving.
Lots of hip bars & restaurants along the promenade. Some have high tech flat screens playing videos of artists.
Quite a holiday atmosphere here & there are still many N American tourists here despite northern summer season.
Nicest place for me is old Vallarta. Isla Cuale in the middle of Cuale river is next door to the condo & a tropical haven of tranquility. The Condo is so well equipped & almost perfect with every convenience even beach towels & umbrellas. The only drawback is the traffic noise 3 floors down. I usually keep the double glazed ranch slider doors shut most of the time & turn on air con or fans to keep cool.
PS. Inventive minds: to the left of the photo a guy has created Jesus & the apostles at the Last Supper... out of sand. It is quite a work of art and he's hoping for tips from onlookers.
